Objectives of the EUNR network

The EUNR's work focuses on PPWR implementation and enforcement, with the following specific objectives:

• Establishing a common understanding of definitions for key terms and roles (e.g. producer, manufacturer, importer, packaging types) in accordance with the PPWR
• Regularly exchanging information and experience on the implementation of PPWR, especially in the context of national registers and registration procedures
• Developing and submitting proposals and recommendations to the European Commission, particularly on (delegated) legal acts, implementing acts or guidelines which may relate to registration or data reporting requirements
• Promoting the harmonization of national implementation of the PPWR, insofar as this is legally permissible and appropriate
• Developing proposals for the preservation and protection of national infrastructure, where this is more appropriate for reasons of quality and cost
• Accompanying further legal acts for the further development of extended producer responsibility for packaging
• Expert exchange on all enforcement issues relating to the implementation of extended producer responsibility for packaging
